At Our Podiatrist we are trained in minor surgical procedures including removal of ingrown toenails.

Surgery is done within the clinic, under sterile conditions with use of a local anaesthetic. It is a simple procedure, and is very successful in curing troublesome ingrown toenails. In most cases full recovery is only 4-5 weeks.

Ingrown toenails can happen in any age group, but most cases are seen in teenagers. Nail surgery is needed when the toenail has become infected, is continually painful and/or is painful when wearing shoes.

An alternative to surgery can be regular visits to the podiatrist to have you nails cut correctly to prevent the toenail from becoming infected.

If you think you may have an ingrown toenail then give Our Podiatrist a call.
